A little of this and a little of that...

Happy Valley Elementary Crazy Hair Day 2009

We decided to break out with the crimper...80's style.

Presley LOVED her "poofy" hair.

The 2nd graders put on a little concert about National Symbols. They sang 4 songs and did a great job. Presley smiled the entire time...she kind of likes the spot-light.

Presley and I in her classroom on National Symbols night.

My sister, Cara, and I. She came to visit along with her little boy, Bannon, and our Grandma. It was great to have them here. I miss seeing them regularly. Come again anytime!

The girls take on Mt. Hood

It's a given that when Aunt Cara comes to visit, a trip to Mt. Hood is in order.
Jeff and Cara took Presley and Cas up to Meadows for a day of boarding.

Go, Presley, go!

Excellent form!

Cas and Presley have each been boarding a few times now. They took lessons all day and did a great job. It may be time to turn them loose on the slopes and see what they can do.

Cute, very cute.

Presley had a birthday...

Eight years ago we were living in Gilbert, AZ waiting for baby girl #2 to make her appearance. Time goes by so fast. It's hard to believe that Presley is already eight. Let me tell you about her. Presley is loving...very affectionate and sensitive. Presley is friendly...she'll play with anyone at any time and has more friends then I can keep track of. Presley is smart...she reads so well and does a great job in school. Presley is happy...she has a laugh that is contagious and a smile that is worth a million bucks. We love her more than words can express. She is a joy to have in our family. Happy birthday, Presley!
February 20th, 2009...Presley's 8th Birthday!

She asked for cupcakes with raspberry whipped cream
instead of traditional cake. A girl after my own heart.

Presley REALLY wanted a Nintendo DS and was saving money to buy one...she only had $19.00. Lucky for her, she has a lot of family that felt sorry for her lack of funds and sent money to her for her birthday. She was super excited to see all of that cold, hard cash! She went straight to Target to buy her PINK DS. Thanks for donating to the
Presley DS Fund...you made her birthday great!

Presley had asked for a new pair of PINK Converse tennis shoes for her birthday to replace the pair that she got at the beginning of this school year. She has worn them out so she needed another pair. I asked her if she wanted some different color and of course she said, "Why would I want a different color? Please get pink."

My sister, Cara, gave Presley this jacket and it was a hit also.

Someday it will be my turn

I don't usually use this blog as an outlet for my own thoughts, but tonight I need an outlet. It is February in Oregon and that means the long winter is starting to get to me. We have had some really nice, beautiful days but they are only a memory as I look out the window at gray skies that threaten snow. I am sick, sick, sick of the snow. I am also feeling a little bit jealous of several family and friends that are vacation bound. Vacations mean sun and lots of fun....

My parents=Jamaica
My brother and his wife=Mexico
Our best neighbors=Mexico
Jeff=Australia

Me=Stuck in Oregon.

Bummer.
