Nikko Toshugu Shrine

Jeff and I visited a city called Nikko which was about 100 miles outside of Tokyo. It was one of the most beautiful places that I have seen. The temples there are over 500 years old and simply stunning. The area is up in the mountains and was used as a summer "palace" for the Shogun's. The pictures don't do it justice. Each temple was covered in incredible wood carvings that have been preserved perfectly. Nikko was one place that I will never forget. Amazing!
